” Because I love you ” charitable photo sessions at no cost to anyone

As most of you know my mother passed away recently and I made a small promise to her I would help families with Cancer by offering charitable photo sessions at no cost to anyone.

Well On December 24th 2013 with my brochures printed and a bottle of my favourite scotch under my arm and my little Photography buddy Elkie there to document it, it was time to visit ” The Kinghorn Cancer Center ” at Darlinghurst.

With mixed feelings I arrived and entered the car park initially I just wanted to cry..remembering the same car spots where we use to bring mum. Lucky for me I had Elkie with me distracting my thoughts. A few minutes later I received a call from my wife ” what time you coming home, kids are driving me loopy ” All these small distractions helped, believe me. As I approached level 4 my heart started pumping…yet again all I wanted to do was cry…again lucky for me I saw a friendly face at the reception..and we talked about my mum, we smiled at each other and at times with a nervous laugh. I explained the reason for my visit was to see Dr Dalley who looked after my mum for 13 years. Mum made it a tradition to visit Dr Dalley every Christmas and give him some gifts…we’ll Im her son and Im doing the same..to my shock Dr Dalley had retired a week prior to my visit.. Oh shit what bad timing I thought to myself so now I have an extra bottle of Chivas Regal to add to my collection “noice”. As I opened my brochures I couldn’t hold my emotions any further…I just started crying trying to explain I am here for a good cause… the reception lady came around and gave me a beautiful hug…I finally controlled my emotions and felt a sense of peace and accomplishment as I saw my brochure standing by itself. I honestly felt my mum with me, and I made a promise I would visit the hospital once a month and personally give out my brochure… I got my bottle and went home.

I am doing this because I love life and I loved my mum..yes life can be difficult with so many pressures but sometimes we just need to look at the big picture, live your life with no regrets make an effort and choose to be happy!

My mum often wrote to me..here is one of the those emails.

Dear son;

Although the weather has been cold and rainy……. the sun has shinned for me……

Through my door a little ray of sunshine….came in  …… Scarlett  softly wrapped in a soft pink blanket, with rosy cheeks and the smell of loved babies, looked contented,in her mum’s arms….and I… her nana felt one more time the happiness, that she is with us.

As I went to sleep that night, I slept soundly, with a feeling of peace……who was going to tell me that the following day, my much loved son would arrive to my door,with flowers for me!!!! , a hug, and some soft and loving words telling me ;I  LOVE YOU MUM, and I am proud of  you…..

I felt the thump, of my heart……and my chest, as I looked at you my son. THANK YOU , THANK YOU for giving me those special times, that     I longed in my heart.

I love very much, and I as always I AM VERY PROUD of you for the kind of man ,that you are.

Ultimate Recipe for Roge and Gem’s Love Cake

  1. Pre-heat Bowral Weather to 26°C
  2. In a stunning Boutique Hotel, named Milton Park Country House in Bowral add a cup of your best BFF’s, stir in a bucket of fragrant tulips over low heat, stirring,
  3. Sift then mix in your favorite church, add beautiful Gem and Roge, bake until golden.
  4. Once everything is combined, pour a handful of love and Laughter with a touch of lavender,
  5. Add a table of your favourite sweets until dissolved.
  6. Pour the mixture of your best spirits into a heat-proof bowl.
  7. Bake the cake for 6 hours or until laughter ends.
  8. Leave the crowd to completely cool,
  9. Then serve and eat.

Parramatta Legend Nathan Hindmarsh Wedding one of my proudest moments

It’s not often you get the call up from a superstar to shoot there wedding..being a Parramatta fan myself..I was so thrilled to be part of his special day. I remember being nervous and star struck at the same time. I have never met someone so humble in my life.. you would think playing for New South Wales and Australia it would get a mention in his speech…we’ll it didn’t.. He talked about family and friends and his love for Bonnie.. What a beautiful beautiful Man Nathan Hindmarsh is!!  His wedding was back in 2009 and at the time I only posted a handful of shots.. Perfect Recipe for Mitch and Ellie’s Love Cake

  1. Pre-heat Sydney Weather to 26°C

  7. Bake the Engagement cake for 6 hours or until laughter ends.
  8. Leave the crowd to cool completely

Narelle and Matt’s Wedding pics at Newport Mirage

Narelle and Matt’s Love cake Recipe

  1. Pre weather to 26 degrees Celsius.
  2. Take 140 of your BFF’s to a cool Newport hotel named Newport Mirage uncovered on HIGH (100%) for 25 minutes during Ceremony stirring soft laughter after every minute until almost melted. Stir until smooth.
  3. Add many beverages while weather still warm and stir until it is dissolved. Stir in your pretty bride and Groom Narelle and Matt. Mix well. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Sprinkle half a tub of love over the happy couple. Top with remaining friends.
  5. Bake for 5 hours or until dancing stops.
  6. Allow friends to cool completely in pan. Serve with cream.
