As a little boy I have very fond memories traveling with my family to Cumberland Oval watching the mighty Eels.. In fact we traveled everywhere Parra played..from Brooky Oval to Canberra. If Parramatta won we would celebrate with Lebanese sweets…In fact Parramatta won so many games in the 80’s it made me a chunky little kid.
Sport in general is a big part of my life….and I want my kids to enjoy watching and playing sports. My eldest child Scarlett is approaching 4 years, she has the Parra jersey and knows the team song. I knew it was only a matter of time before I was given the green light from the manager to take my little girl.
I looked at the weather report…fine blue skies, 3 PM kickoff, Benjii is back playing in the NRL..should be a big crowd..so I booked the tickets…I can’t tell you how excited I was…and to be honest hearing my little girl chant Parra… Parra… Parra… for the very first time at the ground..bought tears to my eyes… I was just so proud watching the game with my little girl and my old man.
I enjoyed documenting this special day for my daughter..and look forward taking my little boy when he is older
Parra obviously beat St George 36-0.
